Meet and Greet

Service Description

Get to know Parkpups Doggy Daycare and our experienced dog sitter with our free Meet and Greet service! This is an opportunity for your furry friend to become familiar with our house, meet our sitter and her own dog, Roxy! We take the time to understand your dog's unique needs and personality, so you can rest assured that they’ll be in good hands while you’re away. Due to the nature of the premises that we operate from, we find that it's best for the owners to not be present for the first part of the meet and greet (around half an hour). It's completely normal to be nervous about your dog's stay or the way they might interact with our sitter's dog, but unfortunately feeling that way can have a negative impact on the way that your dog reacts to the new environment, people and our sitter's dog. In an ideal world we would have a facility with a one-way viewing window out to the yard for this portion of the meet and greet, but unfortunately we can't at our current premises. Dogs can sense when their owners are nervous, and we do often find that this makes the dogs very anxious and more likely to behave in ways that are out of character for them. We recommend leaving your dog with us at the front door and coming back 30mins later once they've had a chance to settle themselves in and relax. Then you'll be invited in to come and view the property and ask any questions that you may have! Our sitter will provide you with a detailed verbal report of how your dog went during the meet and greet. We require all new clients to book a meet and greet at least two days before your dog's first stay as this allows us to perform a behavioural assessment to ensure that your dog fits well into our home and lifestyle. Naturally, not all dogs will get along and we want to make sure that we are only taking on dogs who get along with our sitter's dog and the other members of our house.
